PSA Foundation Sumner Malik Charity Event, Edgbaston Priory/Birmingham Uni – Dec 2018
South West England Jnr Closed, Street, Somerset - October 2018
Some of the regions finest came together to battle it out in Street, Somerset, on a very enjoyable weekend of squash. Not many stringers attend the junior tournaments, but it’s a great place to see the talent of the future coming through the ranks. Happy to provide a few String Doctor freebies too!
Devon Jnr Closed – September 2018
Loads of fun stringing at the Devon Jnr Closed, stringing for the kids (and some of the parents). Junior County squash is on an upwards trajectory in Devon at present, and the quality of squash on display was great. I was happy to provide special rates for the kids as I appreciate it can be expensive sport to fund for the parents of high performing juniors. My little girl even did some stencilling for me too!
Exeter Golf & Country Club PSA – June 2018
A busy 48 hours, averaging a racket strung every 40 minutes during my time at the club, with 25 rackets strung over the weekend, for players across the PSA and graded events. I also had chance to play in the A grade, stepping on court for the first time in 9 months after knee surgery. I left it to my 12 year old son to bring home the silverware though, winning the Men’s D grade!
South West of England Masters, Exeter – January 2018
The UK’s finest Masters players descended upon Devon in the grip of winter to burn off some Christmas Turkey! It was a pleasure to string O60’s Champ, Ian Bradburn’s racket. Having unbelievably played with the same racket and strings for about 10 years, his strings decided to snap 30 mins before the final! Replaced in time for the warm up, Ian won the final 3-0!
